Welcome to Priory Lodge
A warm and welcoming Masonic lodge in the heart of Woolston, Southampton — proudly serving our community since 1930.
Our Story
Consecrated on 20 October 1930
Priory Lodge has been a cornerstone of the Woolston community for nearly a century. Consecrated on 20 October 1930, the Lodge has grown and evolved over the decades whilst remaining true to the timeless values of Freemasonry — brotherhood, charity, and integrity.
Today, Priory Lodge is a thriving community of 30 subscribing members plus one Honorary member, drawn from all walks of life across Southampton and the surrounding area. Whether you are a long-standing Freemason or someone entirely new to the Craft, you will find a genuine and enthusiastic welcome here.
Our members share a common purpose: to enjoy the fellowship of Freemasonry, forge lasting friendships, and make a meaningful difference to those less fortunate in our community.

Who We Are
A Lodge for Everyone
At Priory Lodge, we genuinely believe that Freemasonry is for everyone — regardless of age, profession, or background. Our membership reflects the rich diversity of the Southampton community.
All Walks of Life
Our members come from vastly different professions and backgrounds, yet find common ground in the shared values and camaraderie of the Lodge.
Genuinely Welcoming
We take particular care to ensure that new members — especially those who may not know anyone beforehand — feel at home from their very first meeting.
Life Comes First
We fully recognise that family and work commitments must always take priority. Freemasonry at Priory Lodge fits around your life, not the other way round.
Giving Back
Raising money for charitable causes and helping those less fortunate is at the heart of everything we do as a Lodge and as individuals.

Rehearsal Evenings
Rehearsals are held eight days prior to each Regular Meeting — on the Tuesday, commencing at 7:30pm. For newer members, these are a wonderful opportunity to become more familiar with the ceremonies and ritual of the Lodge in a relaxed and supportive setting.
As your involvement and interest in Freemasonry deepens, these rehearsal evenings become an increasingly valuable and enjoyable part of Lodge life.
The Installation Meeting
The October meeting holds a special place in the Lodge calendar. Known as the Installation Meeting, it begins at 5:30pm and marks the start of the new Masonic Year. This is when key roles and offices within the Lodge are conferred upon members, in a ceremony rich with tradition and symbolism.
The Installation Meeting is a highlight of the year and always draws a larger gathering of members and distinguished visitors. It is a wonderful occasion to attend.
After the MeetingS
An Evening Like No Other
Every Regular Meeting at Priory Lodge is followed by a sit-down meal in the Masonic Centre — a warm and sociable occasion that is as much a part of Lodge life as the ceremony itself. Members and visitors dine together, share stories, and enjoy the kind of genuine fellowship that is the hallmark of a thriving Lodge.
The evening concludes with a raffle in aid of our charitable causes, along with certain other pleasant formalities that give the evening its distinctive character. It is, as our members often say, quite unlike any other night out — and we think you will agree once you have experienced it for yourself.
Social Events
Beyond the Lodge Room
Priory Lodge understands that Freemasonry is about more than the ceremonial meetings — it is about building real friendships and enjoying life together. We organise a programme of social events throughout the year that are open to members, their families, and friends.
Christmas Dinner & Carols Evening
Held on the second Wednesday in December, our Christmas celebration brings members and their loved ones together for a festive dinner and carols evening. It is the perfect way to welcome the holiday season and finish the year in good cheer — and, of course, it also supports our charitable fundraising.
Ladies' Night — Formal Dinner & Dance
Usually held around the end of April, our annual Ladies' Night is a formal dinner and dance — a highlight of the social calendar for members and their guests alike. This elegant evening brings a touch of glamour to the year and raises important funds for our chosen charitable causes.
Charity & Community
Making a Difference Together
Charitable giving lies at the very heart of Freemasonry, and Priory Lodge takes this responsibility seriously. Throughout the year — through our Regular Meetings, our social events, — we raise funds to support those who are less fortunate in our community and beyond.
Freemasonry as a whole is one of the largest charitable organisations in the United Kingdom, contributing millions of pounds every year to a wide range of causes. At Lodge level, we bring that tradition home — supporting local charities, national Masonic funds, and causes close to the hearts of our members.
When you join Priory Lodge, you become part of something genuinely meaningful — not just a social club, but a brotherhood with a real and lasting commitment to doing good.
